Donation Box Fundraising

Fundraising can take up a lot of time. Volunteers and paid staff at a church or non-profit organization can quickly find themselves spending a great deal of time planning fundraisers and implementing fundraisers. This time expenditure can be lessened by a simple placement of donation boxes.

Donation boxes are small boxes that are often times seen at convenience stores and supermarkets where you can drop in your extra coins and the coins will go to help a worthy cause. Most often fundraising donation boxes are found next to cash registers where people are likely to be paying for purchased items.

These donation boxes are a great way to fundraise with minimal effort. What needs to be done to start a donation box fundraiser is first to identify possible locations to place your fundraising boxes. Once you have listed out a large number of locations that you would like to request to allow you to place your donation boxes for your fundraiser it is time to make the boxes.

You can purchase donation boxes that are professional looking and have all your information printed on the label or you can make your donation boxes. If you choose to make donation boxes (for the entire article click here)

Fundraising Ideas
•Photo Event - Have members of your group use digital cameras and stake out local youth sporting events (such as soccer, football, basketball). Take pictures of the athletes batting, kicking a ball, shooting a ball, etc. Offer the pictures for sale to the athletes and parents. Set up a simple website with thumbnail photos so they can choose the pictures they want. Photo printers can be used to produce quality pictures.
•Themed Dinners - This includes the traditional spaghetti dinner and pancake breakfast. You may also consider a gourmet dinner, ice cream social, or buffet. If member families donate ingredients the fundraiser can generate more funds for the group.
•Online Affiliate Fundraising - There are thousands of companies offering a percentage of sales for you directing sales to their websites. This program can bring in money all year long. Many companies offering this program offer items members may shop for every day. Home Depot, Target and WalMart are three such companies. You make money when members of your organization, family and friends use your site to link to these companies and make a purchase - for items they would purchase anyway. Most programs pay once or twice a month.
